How the Points System Works
Handicap Events
For the distance runs, long, medium and short the first over the line receives 100 points for each category, second over the line 99 points etc. until you get down to 1 point. If there are more than 100 runners for a category the remaining runners all get 1 point.
Graded Events
For the grade, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J the first over the line receives 10 points for each category until you get down to 1 point. If there are more than 10 runners for a category the remaining runners get 1 point.
Interclub Point Score
The best 10 individual scores for each club are added together to give you a team score. The winning team each week gets 10 points until you get down to 1 point. This only applies on handicap and graded runs. It does not apply to championship or relay events.
Walkers
At this stage walkers do not receive points because of the doubt surrounding some competitor’s ability to distinguish the difference between walking and running. Therefor it would be unfair to genuine walkers.
Earn bonus points
Maximum points are available once a season for one handicap and one graded event per season when that competitor acts as an volunteer or official.
This is a great way to earn bonus points if you are out with injury or illness
