A Grade is the fastest, going down to J Grade with our slower runners and walkers. First time runners will start in J Grade. Grades start in waves together, so you are competing against those runners of a similar capability Rathmines is located on the western shores of Lake Macquarie. It is a quiet historical town with peaceful parklands and beautiful views of the lake. It was once home to the Rathmines Park Catalina Sea Plane Base, the major RAAF seaplane base from 1939 to 1952. Explore the base on a guided walk or enjoy a picnic by the lake's edge.
