A Grade is the fastest, going down to J Grade with our slower runners and walkers. First time runners will start in J Grade. Grades start in waves together, so you are competing against those runners of a similar capability All runs are out and back on a hilly dirt fire trail. Depending n the track and weather conditions, this may be different on the day.
Poppet Head ParkLocated 5km south of Cessnock are the remains of Aberdare Central Colliery, now known as ‘Kitchener Poppet Head’. The area provides a lovely place to take the family. There is a park, picnic tables and barbecue area with plenty of shade.
There is also a dam that is home to a variety of wildlife including Mallards, Black Swans, Native Wood Ducks and Red Bills. |
